Many people are unaware that there are different types of carpenters. Much like any other profession and industry, carpenters specialise in different areas.
There are the carpenters who are known as rough carpenters.
These guys love structural work. Give them a frame, scaffold, support structure, floorwork, and they’ll knock it out quickly. While this isn’t exactly the most glamourous form of carpentry, it is no less important than the fancy design finishes. ‘Rough’ carpenter isn’t such a nice name for such an important role they play in the construction process.
Then there are ‘finish’ carpenters.
This type of carpenter is more specialised in elements that more directly affect the appearance of a finished structure. For example, it can include work such as decking, interior trims, woodwork, cladding, staircases, timber/metal features etc. These guys usually get the credit for the final appearance of the work involved.
Due to the various types of carpenters, it’s important to understand their strengths and possible weaknesses. Researching exactly what a carpenter specialises in can lead to a smooth construction process. Check their websites, look them up on social media, and decide for yourself if they are right for the work you need done.

Our experience allows us to take on the structural work required to achieve a solid foundation for your home. We also have the professional design touch to execute high-end finishes to meet your custom style goals.
As carpenters, we often surprise clients with the scope of work that we are capable of. We’ve often completed a deck, or restored a bathroom, only for that job to lead to another job at the same property, like building a new fence at the client’s request.
So what carpenter do you require?
A carpenter that can build the bones of your property, renovation, or extension? We can do that.
